Why are IPADs selling on ebay for more than at the apple store?

by admin on July 27, 2010

The IPAD 16GB wifi model is 9 with free shipping from apple’s online store and it’s in stock. However, the same model is going for over 0 on ebay. What’s the reason for this?
but it’s IN STOCK at apple. so the supply is there….

There is a really good explanation. When you buy an iPad from the Apple store you buy it at the lowest price you can get it anywhere. Anywhere else it will cost more. So Ebay has to buy it and sell it for a higher price so they can make profit.

Two reasons.
1. People on ebay can charge whatever they want whereas Apple Inc. has already set a price for all their iPads.

2. The iPad is a hot item and hard to get so people are willing to pay a lot for them. More than they are worth.

The same thing goes with new video game systems. When the PS3 came out it cost… what… $600? but people would go to the store, buy them for the store price and then the store would run out so nobody could buy them. But, some of the people that bought the PS3′s in the store didn’t really want them to play, they just bought them to sell it and they would put it online and sell it for a profit.

Supply and Demand.

The Apple store can’t keep up with demand because the people who wanted to sell it on eBay bought as many as they could afford. Apple sells for cheaper but they don’t have any, so anyone who wants one now will pay the extra for it.

Really, eBay sellers know that Apple fanboys will pay extra money for inferior products. The fact that they want it immediately means they will pay more, all to make their hero, Steve Jobs, proud.
